The situation

In 1989, the Web promised to connect humanity.

Five corporations captured it instead.

Your identity is borrowed. Your data is held hostage. Your attention is sold without your consent. Your voice can be silenced by a single corporate decision. Three billion people are excluded entirely because access is controlled by profit-seeking entities.

The Web did not fail because people are bad.
It failed because the incentives were wrong from the start.

Ownership

Every person owns their identity, their data, and their relationships — absolutely and irrevocably. No platform can hold your data hostage. No company can delete your identity. No government can revoke your presence on the network.

Freedom

No one — no corporation, no government, no majority — can silence a voice on this network. Censorship is architecturally impossible, not just prohibited by policy. Freedom is not a permission granted by authorities. It is a property of the system itself.

Truth

Information on this network is verifiable. You can know who said something, when they said it, and whether it has been altered. Truth is not enforced by moderators — it is guaranteed by cryptography.

Equality

Every human being on Earth has equal access to this network. Not equal access subject to ability to pay. Not equal access subject to government approval. Equal access as a matter of design. It works for everyone or it works for no one.

Why now
The betrayal

The Web promised us freedom. It delivered surveillance, extraction, and control. Tim Berners-Lee invented it to connect humanity. A handful of corporations captured it to monetize humanity. We all felt this happen. Many of us built the tools that made it happen.

The impossibility

You can't fix the Web. It was built on the wrong foundations — identity as an afterthought, data as a server asset, economics as a platform toll. You cannot reform a system designed to extract.

The necessity

So we build what comes next. Not a better app. Not a privacy browser. Not a decentralized Twitter. A new network — from the physical layer to the interface layer — designed from first principles around the four things the Web abandoned. Ownership. Freedom. Truth. Equality.

The invitation
